The migratory periods of March - April and October are the best times to see birds in the area, although regular Summer visitors such as the spectacular multicoloured Bee-eaters, Palid Swifts, Red Rumped Swallows and Golden Oriole can be seen throughout the summer.

Residents such as the Black Whetear (only lives in this area of Spain), Black Redstart, Siberean Warbler, Hoopoe and Crested Lark can be seen around the Finca without even leaving the front gates (a flock of Bee-eaters fly close overhead 3-4 times a day in the Summer).

If you want to see Griffon Vultures there is a vulture sanctuary above nearby Salares. You can also see Booted, Golden, Bonellis and Short-toed Eagles.

There is a birdwatching expert who lives in Canillas de Albaida, Patrick Raines of Birdbuffs who can be hired for a half day, or by the day to take you to the best birding sites and identify the birds for you.

Why not take advantage of our 2 Free Places Scheme and get your own group together for an "all inclusive Birdwatching Holiday" or simply book the Finca outright for a "non-inclusive" self organised Birdwatching Holiday.
